Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has announced that its customers can now resume loading crude oil shipments from its facilities located on Das and Zirku islands in the Persian Gulf. This decision follows the recent agreement between the United States and Iran, which has led to improved conditions and an anticipation of unhindered maritime traffic through the critical Strait of Hormuz.
According to ADNOC, crude oil has been available for loading since April 27. The company emphasized that clients who fail to collect their scheduled shipments might face breaches of their contractual obligations. To assist customers encountering difficulties with shipping, ADNOC has offered support through its own tanker fleet or those of its affiliates.
This development is part of a broader effort by oil producers in the Gulf region to resume normal export operations, following recent disruptions. Over the past months, ADNOC has actively participated in the market, selling tens of millions of barrels through tender processes, solidifying its position as one of the most active exporters in the area.
Additionally, the United Arab Emirates is taking steps to diversify its export routes to reduce dependency on the Strait of Hormuz. Efforts are underway to expedite infrastructure projects, especially those aimed at increasing pipeline capacity to the port of Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman. This strategic move will enable a larger volume of crude exports to bypass the congested and strategic waterway.
