LG Electronics has achieved its most successful financial performance for the second quarter, propelled by significant demand in several of its key sectors including home appliances, vehicle components, and HVAC systems. The company’s preliminary figures indicate an operating profit of 1.58 trillion won ($1.04 billion), marking an impressive increase of 146.9% compared to the previous year. Revenue also experienced substantial growth, rising 14.9% to 23.83 trillion won, exceeding the expectations of market analysts.
In the first six months of the year, LG Electronics reported a remarkable 47.56 trillion won in revenue and 3.25 trillion won in operating profit, both of which represent new records for the company. This outstanding performance is attributed to a combination of higher sales in essential business areas, enhanced cost efficiency, the expansion of subscription services, increased adoption of the webOS platform, and a boost in online sales channels.
The company’s home appliance division, along with its vehicle solutions and HVAC units, were significant contributors to the growth. There was a notable surge in demand for high-end home appliances and automotive infotainment systems. Additionally, the need for cooling solutions, particularly in Europe where recent heatwaves have been intense, played a crucial role in bolstering LG’s performance.
